In Abia, Ndubuisi wins Bende South seat

The INEC has declared Peoples Democratic (PDP) Party Chief Emmanuel Chinedum Ndubuisi winner Bende South state constituency.

Professor Philippa, the returning officer, announced that Chief Emmanuel Chinedum Ndubuisi of the PDP defeated his All Progressives Party (APC) counterpart, Hon Chibuzor Okogbuo with 4,426 votes to 4,415 votes to emerge victorious.

However, the announcement of the result did not go down well with the APC candidate who alleged threatened the returning officer a development that prompted the security agents to whisk and the materials away to INEC headquarters in Umuahia.  

Meanwhile, it was jubilation galore as people gathered to celebrate the victory of the Uzuakoli-born lawmaker-elect.

The 7th Abia State House of Assembly was Inaugurated on Monday 10 June 2019 after a Proclamation by the Abia State Governor Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu. Formed after the Governorship and State House of Assembly Elections of Saturday 9 March 2019 and inaugurated on Monday 10 June 2019,[1] the Representatives of the Assembly were elected from 24 constituencies with the majority being members of the People's Democratic Party.[2] The elected Speaker is Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji representing Umuahia Central State Constituency.
